TAG YOU’RE IT!
Ingredients:
Time and Keys die sheet from The Artistic
Stamper
Powder watercolour paints
Chipboard Tags & Wings
Archival Black inkpad
Sandpaper
Watch face
Printed twill
Glue
Hole punch
Instructions:
Mount and cut out your stamps
Mix the powder paints with water, using colours you like
Paint your large tag and small tag making sure you have a full coverage.
Don’t be afraid to combine colours, although it is best to leave the first
colour to dry before applying another over the top
·
Paint the wings using your choice of colours – it may be preferable to use a
different colour for the wings so they contrast with the tags
·
Set the wings & tags to one side to dry
·
Ink up your clock face stamps and stamp these onto Post It notes, making
sure you have stamped over the sticky part of the note. Now cut these out.
These will be your “masks”
·
By this time your tags & wings should be dry. Using your sandpaper, gently
distress the edges of your tags and lightly brush the sandpaper over the
wings until you have the distressed look you want
·
Now take your first clock face stamp, ink it up and stamp directly onto the
large tag on the top left hand side
·
Place the corresponding Post It note “mask” over the image on the tag
·
Now ink up a different clock face stamp and stamp this partly over the
“mask” and onto the tag
·
Repeat this process (remembering to leave the “masks” in place) until you
have got a complete line of clock images down the left of the tag
·
With the masks still in place, ink up a phrase stamp and stamp this
diagonally down the right hand side of the stamp. You can stamp this
randomly so the words actually will read down the tag
·
Now turn to the wings. These can be left plain or stamped onto depending on
your taste. It looks good either way and you can always re-use your masks
if you wish to have more clock images on them
·
The little tag can be decorated as you would like, you could add a few words
or add a clock image if you would like to
·
To add a little dimension to the whole project you could drag your inkpad
gently around the edges of the tags and wings
·
You will now need to take your metal watch face embellishment. It is
personal taste whether you would like to distress this but it does look nice
if you gently rub your sandpaper over the face and then just brush the edges
with your inkpad.
·
Place your wings onto the lower half of the large tag and once you have them
placed where you want them, snip the thicker rounded ends off, this will
mean you can butt them up together so they can stick together flat. Once
you have them positioned correctly, you can go ahead and stick them down
·
Next, take your watch face and place this in the middle of the wings and
stick it down
·
Using your twill, fix the little tag to the large one and tie the twill
through the holes
·
You should now have a completed Altered Tag!
