Altered Driftwood Class with Lunch

£55

What could be better than a relaxing day playing around in an art journal?! Kate will share tips for creating sumptuous, colourful, multi-layered backgrounds, and then provide with ideas for focal points on the page with tips on composition along the way. We’ll be using acrylic paints, stencils, rubber stamps,  Dylusions ink sprays, oil pastels, and anything else that takes our fancy! Anything goes!

Please bring: Your art journal, a brayer, and your favourite colouring tools – Prismas, polychromos, copics ….

Painting isn’t just for your art journals and canvases.  Driftwood is free and plentiful on Britain’s beaches, and it just asks to be altered! Kate will guide you through the preparation stages, before sharing tips for creating designs for your wood, and then will give you ideas for finishing and sealing. Create mini hangings for your home, or try some of your art journaling techniques on a different substrate.

Kate has a collection of driftwood but if you have your own (or feel an urge to go out scavenging) then please bring some with you on the day. Paint pens will also be useful (Montana, Derwent, Posca, Sharpies) so if you have some bring them along.
